Shallow Water Dragons are found in tropical regions where the water is warm. They use their magic to hunt, using bubbles to capture small fish and animals. Their large, webbed feet make them excellent swimmers and they are able to move at very high speeds. Due to their bright color, these dragons are easily spotted in the lagoons where they live.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kazuo knew that his mate Chiasa would love having another little one, so when Koibito's egg washed up on the beach, he carefully carried it back to his mate. Chiasa and Kazuo were not sure that the egg would hatch, since it had a rough trip getting to them. When the egg was a day late, they thought for sure that they had lost it, but then the first cracks appeared. Koibito was so small and adorable that they decided to name her the Japanese word for "Beloved". She is a very shy and timid dragon, but has a good heart and all the other dragons love her, especially her family and her mate. She was initially scared by Ryoushin's boldness, but has grown to love him with all her heart. She enjoys swimming around the lagoon with him, and spending as much time with him as possible.
