Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

At Deaths Door is a dragon of solitude. He has his own cave set off from the others, watching from afar as the young dragons are kept under a watchful eye of Robin or Fury. His egg was found in the abandoned pile right after a quick-footed whiptail dragon with fearful eyes had dropped it off and went running away. StarNight took it and raised it with the same care as any other dragon, though she kept it in a separate cave to keep the stink from getting her dragons sick. He gets a fresh bloody meal everyday, sometimes brought by StarNight and other times it is brought by Halloween dragons. He wishes badly to bite the other eggs, but due to StarNight treating him well and taking him rather than leaving his egg to rot, he listens to her, willing to wait for the day he will get to transform an egg into a Vampire.
