Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Le Madame FancyPants has won the Grand Prize Fanciest Dragon award every year at the Annual Dragon Fanciness Festival and Splendorama Showcase. She is widely known as the fanciest of the fancypants dragons and Dragon Fancy has touted her as the fanciest dragon in all of dragon history.

However, her bitter rival, Mme Froufroushoes, is giving her some competition this year. Dragons all over the world will be tuning in to see these two rivals fancy battle it out for title of Supreme World Fancy Champion.
