Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Speed Tail was the second one in the cave, and although she has aged, she is still the sharp tongued dragon she was when she was younger. As a hatchling, she resented Horn of White watching over her and preventing her from leaping into problems. He didn't realize that was the only way Speed Tail could learn; jump head first into problems. She rejected his advances, but Black Lies caught her eye. No one knows why the mysterious Black Lies caught Speed Tail's eye; perhaps it was the mysterious past, the good looks or maybe it was because Black Lies made Speed Tail feel younger then she was. Speed Tail now has many children and grandchildren and is contented on sitting back and watching the cave life.
