Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Magic is, without doubt, the greatest force upon the face of the world. It can obliterate mountains, twist the laws of science, raise empires and throw down kingdoms. It can change all of existence in the course of a moment. It is power, absolute.

A strength that only the great may wield.

So believes Magnostadt--a cold and ruthless dragon who has devoted her life to magic and, in her pride, found cause to ridicule those who lack it. Imagining the only reason fate could be so unfair as to entrust some with this power while to others deny it, she believes those who can't perform magic are weak, stupid, useless--pests upon the earth that must be eradicated.

Of course, there are a great many such beings. Their removal will take time.

But she has all the time she needs--and with every year that passes, her power only grows stronger.
