Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s extremely curious and seems to enjoy exploring the area around it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Being abandoned at a very young age, so young in fact that she barely remembered, Lila Mandarine quickly developed abandonment issues. She never leaves her surrogate parents' sides, which does annoy Don Violet quite a lot. Lila even went so far as to ask to be frozen in time so that she wouldn't have to grow up and learn to live independently. She is afraid that she will lose her adoptive parents once she is able to survive on her own. Her adopted mother, Divine Kiss, thinks it is cute.

Her best friend is the frozen pink hatchling Aiko Brighani, whom she trusts with her life. When Lila is with Aiko, she can forget her fears and have fun once in a while. They usually play catch and do acrobatics. Sometimes, a few other hatchlings join them. Aiko is the official leader of their little hatchling group.
