Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very curious and fond of sweets.

And look! It has grown feathers! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Mini Rock Candy's egg was nearly eaten when it was placed in a large bowl full of unusual candies that had been gifted to his keeper.  After the egg was identified as an egg, it was allowed to hatch normally.  The day after the little Valentine dragon grew wings, he got into another accident, this one involving a long tumble down a hill.  When he stopped tumbling, he found himself staring at the orange feet of the magi dragoness, Crocoitia.  The dragoness, being very fond of hatchlings, promptly froze him, forcing him to stay a hatchling forever.  Mini Rock Candy was depressed for several months after which he gradually regaining his normal cheerful nature.  He still has occasional days of melancholy, where he longs to be fully adult.
