Dark green dragons, once they mature, appear to become an entirely different species. However, this isn’t true. Rather, they burrow underground and get nutrients from their vines. These vines are sometimes referred to as Dragon Grass. These dragons are very violent, and will use their vines to capture, kill, and eat anything that moves, as well as nearby plants. Luckily, their range is limited and they cannot use magic. Dark green dragons tend to be easy to spot since they usually kill all plants around them and thus are usually surrounded by a large clearing.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Snap Sting is violent like the rest of his species, but unlike the rest of the vine dragons in the cave, he doesn't accept that and has not given up on being normal. He tries to lead as normal life as possible with his violent outbursts, and he wishes strongly he could stop and control them. The others know that he is trying, and so they respect him and accept him the best they can. No one can go near him though, because his instincts will then kick in and he will attack. They must settle for long distance communication away from his lethal vines. Snap Vine has not let his violence rule his life. He has burrowed and created himself a comfortable den to sleep and live in. Every day his den gets larger and more complex. He has also taken on a mate, Laughing Jackal. They must settle for being far apart even when together, because Snap Vine will even attack her if she gets to close. It sometimes puts a strain on the relationship but she has not left yet.
