Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It is very brightly colored and loves fruit.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Rider loves to eat just about any kind of fruit, and he is very adamant on finding these treasures himself; he doesn't like food given to him, as he feels he should earn it. A large overachiever, Rider tends to tire himself out more often than most hatchlings, and thus, can end up getting sick more easily. Even when he is ill he hates to take food that is given to him, but he has learned to swallow his pride and simply take it for his own good.
