Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

MyTimeOfDying was the first vampire dragon to join the group. MistyDarkness had been patrolling the skies, and spotted the egg below. Without considering the consequences, he snatched the egg up and returned to the group, presenting his find. Dawndust adopted it and although she was almost certain it was dead, she looked after it until it hatched. MyTimeOfDying grew quickly and the others began to fear him. He was very protective of his new family, and defended them against all odds. It wasn't long before he was being considered as the leader of the group, and he took the position seriously. He watched over the hatchlings as they played, made sure all the eggs were kept safe and that enough food was provided for the adults. Sometimes he becomes angry for unknown circumstances and will unknowingly bite an egg, therefore creating another vampire dragon soon to join.
