And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

When Tine was an egg, she was hit with sickness. Even after she hatched, the disease persisted. The entire 'an Ishtoya' clan was worried for her, especially her older sister Val, who had hatched not long after her sibling. The young sick hatchling faced the darkness of the inner cave to seek out the clan's sorcerer. The great dragon was incredibly intimidating to the youngster, but she braved as best she could. Unfortunately, she could not be healed, for the sickness would surely kill her, however Lucivar used his magical skill to freeze her small body, and with it the sickness that had pestered her since her egg was lain. Tine is still weak, but her disease has not grown stronger, and she has learned to live with it. She spends much time with her older sibling, who has since grown to adult hood and found a mate. Tine is sad that she will never have a mate, but with a birthdate of the most love filled holiday of the year, she feels that she can help spread love either way.
