Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It occasionally shoots small puffs of smoke from its nose, like it’s trying to breathe fire.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Ruby is the newest hatchling spy, excited and proud of her new position in the Rain Clan. She's sweet and slippery, and enjoys tricking the other dragons in the Clan. The older silver hatchling, Silv, found the way into her heart, and now they stick together like glue. Often Silv, Aureo, and Laen meet together to go into the mountains with Ruby, Swift, and Lilly. While they're up there, Ruby tends to melt the snow with her puffs of flame that she's learned to shoot from her mouth.
