Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Both of this dragon's parents are quite enraptured by snow, one for strategic and safety reasons, the other for artistic ones. So, too, is this dragon fascinated with it--because snow leads to SNOW DAYS and snow days mean no school! Praying desperately, wearing his draconic jammies backwards, and offering up snowmen sacrifices, J'Oldmark's obsession with getting time off from educating himself has caused his parents to become quite worried about him. They shouldn't be too worried, however; his loathing of the local academy arises entirely because the material is all too slow for him, the dragon finding days spent at home reading up on old tomes far more productive a use of his time. Now if only he would have the common sense to actually tell his parents his reasoning!
