Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Despite being as black as outer space, it has a few bright patterns on it.

And look! It has grown wings and its scales have gained beautiful patterns. It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Being frozen sometimes has its advantages. Since she's frozen, little Galaga has never needed to worry about grownup problems, and spends all her time in her cave, researching. Eventually, she collected so many books that she opened up her cave as a library for scholarly dragons. She is the librarian and knows every single book title, how many pages it has, and where it is to be placed, so one shouldn't try and steal from her. She has a bodyguard for the library: a Red Dorsal dragon. But in secret, Galaga has a very special book. She can't read the runes on it, and keeps it locked up where she attempts to translate it every day. So far, she only knows that it is a massive book on what seems to be the history of dragonkind itself.
