Hellhorse Dragons are foul-tempered, spirited creatures with tempestuous and violent dispositions. Torrents of scorching flames erupt from their bodies and can easily set their surroundings ablaze. Highly aggressive and territorial toward other dragon species, Hellhorses will tolerate others as long as they believe the association to be beneficial. Such alliances are tenuous in nature and frequently short-lived, as the slightest disagreement can easily escalate into a full-out brawl.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Flame Eq is a member of the sketchy group of dragons the Vulcans, and thus one of the many dragons in the group most tend to try and stay away from. Flame is the second in command of the group, and dedicated to serving by the leader Volcanis Drak's side. Flame was originally dedicated to serving by Cafkle, the original group leader's side, but after the leader drake was overthrown by the more vicious vampire dragon Volcanis, quickly turned his dedication as the second in command to him. Flame is ambitious, foul-tempered, and rude, a dragon that had been a bad egg from the start. Even his parents disowned him, choosing never to speak of him again and acting as if he was never born in the first place. Flame Eq has never showed any signs that this has bothered him, and is happy serving as one of the cruelest dragons in the Sanctuary.
