Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It enjoys gathering pebbles and other small rocks and putting them in a pile.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Tesella is the unique child of a water dragon, Naias, and a pebble dragon, Lapillus. Being the only egg of the strange union Tesella's mother kept a close watch as she grew from egg to hatchling. As Tesella grew her wings she saw her parent's sorrow at losing their precious baby, and so decided to stay a hatchling forever. Now she remains constantly at her mother's side.
