Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Ever since it hatched, the sky has been full of very dark clouds.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

It was a fierce storm brewing that dark fateful night. Not a creature was seen, and no birds sung in the sky. All was silent, except for the whisper of the soaring wings of the lone storm hatchling. Panting. Lost. Alone. Terrified. It was all too quiet, and our young hatchling was without the elder members of the storm flock. His fluttering and wheeling grew too much, however, and this hatchling fell. Falling, falling, falling... Crash-landing in the cave, before a group of confused hatchlings. They greeted him, and invited him to come in to shelter from the brewing storm. He very quickly charmed them with his amazing stories, and was very quickly made welcome and a permanent resident of the caves.
