As the nocturnal relative to Sunbeam Drakes, Moonglow Drakes are a secretive breed most active under the light of the moons and stars. They are wary of others, but are known to have incredible loyalty should their trust be won. Catching sight of Moonglow Drakes as they dance amid the moonlight is seen as a favorable omen by those they live near, and tamed individuals are common. They are slightly smaller than their cousins, averaging around the size of a cat.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

For the most part, Zashen is quiet and polite. He's not particularly overeager to please, but will do favors for people. This also means that he's not too concerned with people who don't like him. Where others might try to befriend dragons, Zashen will let them come to him.

In the few instances that he braves sunlight, his wings seem a rather dull shade of some nondescript color; under moonlight however, they're almost iridescent, shimmering in all manner of colors from turquoise to bronze.

He can often be found tending his water lilies, which only bloom at night, and are a practically glowing shade of red when unfurled.
