Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Belfry once heard the beautiful sound of ringing bells in a dream. He was so enamored by the dream that started collecting different types of bells to let them sing deep in his cave. Now the music from his bells wafts from the underground as an eerie melody, bringing the curious to wander the forest surrounding his home. He has yet to reproduce the pure tones from his dream, and no one knows if he ever will.

Not many seek to steal Belfry's bells, but those who do are brought down by his terrible magic. He throws their corpses into the sea, for he cannot consume those who seek music. It is said that the bones of those killed by Belfry's magic are able to produce a light melody, not unlike that of a ringing bell.
