Nocturne Dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camouflage to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Menchura is a gentle Nocturne dragon with vermilion eyes and a pair of gently curving horns. During the day, she sits outside the cave entrance with her fellow Nocturne Lesuro. Both of them act as watchful guardians outside the cave entrance, although they remain motionless as long as the sun is in the sky. Once night falls, however, Menchura transforms into a midnight blue dragon with silvery white wings. She is very active once awoken and often spends her time soaring over the land in a boundless display of energy. Menchura spends her time with the other nocturnal dragons, although she wishes that she could see the world in daylight rather than in darkness. Once the sun begins to rise, she loyally returns to her post and freezes in place until the next night. When Menchura is not flying, her favorite activity is swimming in a nearby lake. She is known by the other dragons as a very gentle and kind creature.
