Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
As the first-hatched and first-full-grown of MBlackwood's brood, Protector Prime was named for a powerful, fair, and just leader of a species she has never heard of, and likely never will. And yet, she still manages to pull it off. While the Keeper (a human girl) is away (WHEREVER she goes when she's not doting over the hatchlings), Prime stands guard over the nest and scolds the younglings when they start getting rowdy. In many ways the peacekeeper of the nest, she presides with mind-boggling patience over any arguments concerning insult, property, or any other of the myriad things young dragons can become argumentative over.<br/>Occasionally, Prime will have a bizarre craving for Cheetos Puffs. Neither the dragons nor the Keeper have deduced exactly how this happens, but it seems to do no harm, as the Keeper usually has a bag of the stuff handy.
