Avatars of Change are unpredictable, exuberant dragons whose unique connection to magic has saturated their entire bodies. It is said that possessing one of their iridescent scales can change one’s fate, and many have sought the favor of these dragons hoping to receive a scale as a gift.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Yutsuya is a rather proficient speaker, and many dragons deem him highly approachable given his natural inclination for fluidity and poise in conversation. This has worked out somewhat strangely for him, as he is inevitably the first dragon consulted whenever one of the hatchlings going through maturation has questions about what is happening to them. He generally doesn't mind being bombarded with queries and worries, since he understands the insecurities and confusion that can accompany the changes involved in growing up. To pass the time in between visitors, Tsuya raises butterflies in his living caverns. He finds it somewhat amusing that he enjoys doing so, but at least the insects don't need to ask him why they suddenly have wings. They, at least, seem to have everything figured out.
