Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sock is a Snow Angel serving under the command of Glimmer, the new leader of the Holiday dragons. She has been with the cave for a long time, not as much as her half sister Flake, but long enough. Like Flake, Sock is mellow and laid back, and a very stable force. Dragons often come to her with problems, and she offers them a shoulder to lean on. Everyone feels comfortable around her, comfortable enough to voice their fears, thoughts, ideas, and just about anything. She listens with open ears, and doesn't speak until the dragon has poured their heart out.

Sock wasn't excited when Glimmer took on the role as leader, but she didn't dare to speak against her friends' choice. Besides, Flake has assured her that if the young Wrapping-Wing ever failed to fulfill his duty as leader, Shimmer would take over, which of whom she has grown close to the point of crushing on him.
