Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hepaiyo is the second magi dragon in the Mistress' clan. Abandoned as an egg, Fiya-Majii, a healer dragon, brought the egg to the cave without the Mistress knowing in the middle of a thunderstorm. The egg was, at the time, very cold and close to death. When the storm was over, Fiya-Majii pushed the egg out to the warmest part of the clan's field, and made sure the egg returned to normal health.

Hepaiyo loves to tell jokes and read stories, yet is not popular with the hatchlings. In his younger days, he was prone to panic, but now that he is older, he is much calmer and more secluded. He does not hold an important position in the clan, almost secluded, really, and has never taken an interest in any of the females, nor in having children.
