Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Salty, Glass-Scale's mate, is energetic and stubborn. He loves to fly acrobatics and teach the young dragons of his clan to fly. His egg was won in a card game but the man decided he didn't want the hassle of a dragon, and so Warrior took the egg in. As soon as he hatched, Salty regretted his name and demanded to be called Salty. When someone called him by his hatch name, he would throw a fit and once he even crushed an egg in the process. Because of that, Salty tries to remain calm and will fly off from a heated discussion if it takes a turn for the worst. Salty has a soft side and a special place in his soul for his life-long mate, Glass-Scale.
