When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Mephilia Venus is considered to be a rather morbid dragon by her tribe. A water-dweller, the majority of the tribe does not interact with her, but those who do will attest that her sense of humor is very odd. Mephilia is almost always very upbeat yet refined. She giggles frequently and closely observes anything that catches her interest. The strange part is what she is interested in; Mephilia is fascinated by death. She finds the concept of souls and a spirit world amazing, and is constantly trying to imagine what an afterlife might be like. She is known to watch injured or sick fish and predators like sharks, all the while giggling about the scenes unfolding before her. She never actually harms anything though, so the tribe has chosen to let it go.
