Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Drateo is a Vampire Dragon that seeks revenge on his own kind. He was forcefully turned into a vampire. A long time ago, while he was still an egg, there was a vampire attack on the valley where Drateo was laid. Vampires tried to turn every egg into a vampire egg to increase there numbers. His parents tried to defend Drateo and his siblings from being bitten by a vampire, but it was too late Drateo was already bitten by the leader of the vampires. His egg change into a stone cold smelly rotten egg, and when he was bitten a big earthquake formed on the valley. While Drateo's parents where still defending Drateo's siblings from the vampires, they asked a skywing dragon to take Drateo and take care of him. The skywing rushed to Drateo to saved him from being smashed by the big rocks that the earthquake made. The skywing flew away and no dragon ever heard of Drateo and the sky wing ever again.
