Magma Dragons are capable of withstanding the intense temperatures of their element. They live in volcanic regions, their bodies coated in the red hot magma which clings to their scales. They must leave the lava fields in order to hunt, although they require surprisingly little food to sustain their lumbering mass.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This male was born during a time of great sorrow. A group of rogue mages, wicked beings who had delved too deep into dark magic, sought to enslave all dragons for their own. Their sorcery was not powerful enough to achieve such an end, but it caused disaster all the same; countless eggs vanished from nests, yanked in towards the source of the mana blast, only to drop and fracture by the thousands halfway along the journey. Skierrel was one of the few who survived--and he did not survive alone. Roaming the dead-littered plains, picking his way through eggshells and the limp bodies of hatchlings, he came upon a newborn Silver, barely breathing. Skierrel cared for the sickly thing, and they became the closest of companions, until the day her parents found them--and revealed she was a princess. Taken in by the royals, the Magma grew to be a well-respected adult. But even as he remains always at his Silver's side, he's bitterly aware that a creature like himself can never court her.
