Thunder Dragons are the masters of electricity. Their wings gather energy as they soar through the clouds, and when they clap their wings together they can create devastating arcs of lightning. They can stay airborne nearly indefinitely, landing only to sleep and breed; they catch their prey from the air and take moisture from the clouds. A thunder dragon’s roar is considered to be an omen of misfortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Proud and reserved, Pyrros is one of the dominant males of his cave, alongside Corian Fyreborne, Kuthian of the Onyx, and the rising Vine NightJade. Like Corian, he has selected a single mate, but has almost never mated with anyone but her. He rather ignores the consistent fighting of Kuthian and Corian, concentrating on his own family. This gets confusing sometimes, as there are two Blacks named Kuthian in the cave- the aforementioned dominant male, and an Alt whom Pyrros treats as a brother. As for offspring, Pyrros has several, but the most dominant of them is Eurus. In addition, a young Thunder about Eurus's age named Zephyrus was taken in under Pyrros's wing and is treated as a son by Pyrros, and a brother by Eurus.
