Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Elim is just a humble seamstress. She might have been born as a Black and therefore predestined to be a warrior and she might even have fought and killed to protect her clan while she was younger but those days are behind her. She had a falling out with her father and her clan after she betrayed him (although to this day she claims it was a set up and rumours, nothing more) and has ever since then lived close to a human village, providing mundane yet necessary services for them.

She has a good eye for colours and her claws are very effective scissors, yet her stitches are far from fine and delicate enough for human clothing, really. The humans mostly use her services because they are afraid to anger a Black dragoness living basically among them. Clothes can be mended or perfected secretly at home by grandmothers when necessary after all.
