Pink Dragons are primarily herbivores and only eat meat during the mating season, when mates will exchange kills. When it is not breeding season, pink dragons spend most of their time incubating eggs and caring for their clan’s young. Due to their feminine color, it was traditionally thought that pink dragons were a strictly female breed, but this is not true.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Loras Rosewater is the resident "mother hen" of the dragon clan, not that he means to be, it's just in his nature to take care of the new eggs and little hatchlings. Often times underestimated by the "warriors" and "hunters" of the brood, Loras is quite fine with them thinking that he is incapable of fighting or hunting—he is an herbivore after all, for the most part. However, Loras is probably the most skilled and adept hunter of the brood and will attack anyone or anything that tries to hurt the little ones.

Out of all the dragons, Loras gets along best with Vicguna Pacas because the little hatchlings all migrate towards her. Astra Mayeri helps a bit from time to time with the little ones. Although one would think that Loras and Azure Lazurite would get along since Azure is the "big brother", Loras finds Azure to be annoying, vaguely arrogant, and power hungry. He knows it's not true but Azure does like to think he knows best when it comes to raising hatchlings when he doesn't.
