Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It blends into the snow.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This Frostbite hatchling is... well, cold. In both demeanor and temperature; especially the former. She ignores her parents pleas to change and retreats into the corner of the cave, sticking her nose in the air and watching the other hatchlings with disdain. Not only is she cold, however, but her peers have described her as "just plain mean." One of her favorite activities when she is not skulking in the shadows happens to be goading the other hatchlings into doing something wrong, then promptly turning around and tattling to his or her parents.
