Balloon Dragons are so named because they are filled with a gas that makes them almost lighter than air, similar to balloons. However, they are not prone to bursting, as they are covered in tough skin and can deflate themselves if necessary. In addition, they generally are slow moving. They use their gas bladders to float to the tops of trees, where food is more abundant. They can shift their weight from their backs to their fronts, allowing them to reach leaves and fruit.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The carefree attitude expected of a balloon dragon is not present in Xeone. She has always been fairly self-conscious and harsh on any who tease her. She bears strong grudges and is widely known as a realist and, behind her back, a cynic. She can be a fairly difficult obstacle for others in all three factions.

Although she is just as any other balloon dragon, Xeone thinks she is fat. She is very picky about her sparse diet. When she lets the gases in her belly bubble up, she is almost skin and bones.

The others know well never to disturb her when their scales have just been cleaned. She hates her reflection and even closes her eyes to drink. Her own form is almost always clean; though she makes sure her scales have been scuffed up to an unreflective dullness.

She never likes to be the center of attention. She doesn't hesitate to say what she thinks, but never lets anyone put her on the spot when she doesn't feel like it. Not unless they want a lot of flaming air in their lungs.
