Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Whenever night dawns upon the land, a fluttering, spectre ribbon-like object floats along the clouds. Many ground-pent would point in awe at this creature. "This is a fluttering stray ribbon!" And so this became her name, "Fluttering Stray Ribbon". Many believed her to be the first dragon of the year to grow up, seeing her 'sister' grew up on New Year's Eve. However, she is easily overpowered by humbleness, and if a compliment is given to her, she will implore to do anything in return. Thus, Flutterby, as she is known by peers, is very susceptible to evil deeds and misfortunes, so others protect this beauty from any others who are known to do misdeeds.
