It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Olina is a calm and beautiful dragon. She has only a couple kids of her own but loves to nurture the eggs picked up by her handler. The other dragons know that they can trust her to watch over their eggs. She can be like a mother bear if she has to be. When she first arrived the nursery was in poor shape and unguarded. She cleaned it up and protected it. Now, Olina doesn't have to worry about that because the nursery is well hidden and deep in the Meadows, surrounded by guardian dragons about. Although she loves kids it took her a while to find her own mate. She thought that a white dragon might be the type for her. After Cocoalai turned her down, she thought about an orange one, but that didn't work out either. She gave up for a time. Eventually one of the guardians caught her eye. He had been watching her for a while. She decided that this time he would have to approach her. Limvard eventually made his feelings clear and they had two children, both purples.
