Swallowtail Dragons are graceful and quick flyers, much like their namesake bird. They are capable of precise aerial acrobatics, and can reach very high altitudes. Because of this, humans observing these dragons are often astonished at how large they are when confronted up close. A Swallowtail’s diet consists of insects and small mammals plentiful in temperate forests. These dragons are also made remarkable by their paper-thin wing membranes, which allow light to pass through, creating an astonishing effect on starry nights.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Topazaput TwinTail (after the gemstone: Topaz) joined the clan cave as the 186th member, a boisterous and spirited dragon from the moment his head broke through the trappings of his shell and his eyes first opened to the world which awaited him. Scooped up by The Clan Mother one bright spring day, he has been like a gust of fresh air that constantly rumbles through the clan cave. Like others of his kind, he is graceful in flight, and even as a hatchling, he favored the use of his twin tails to propel him, and assist with hair pin turns and dazzling maneuverability. His favorite, and arguably most terrifying feat, is to climb through the sky until nothing can be seen but a tiny fleck of color, then rapidly descend back through the clouds, spinning around at just the right moment until his tail points to the ground, as if flying backwards! For onlookers, it seems perilous, a dragon flying tail first, but to him, it seems pure delight, a true source of never ending amusement.
