Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very festively colored.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This little hatchling loves the snow. Always brimming with Christmas spirit, he dashes through the cold, unhindered by the snowbanks that tend to rise over his head. His favorite activity by far, though, is racing down the canyon slopes, paws clinging to a weather-smoothed log as he rockets down the mountainside, laughing exuberantly all the while. This activity has become popular with some of the braver hatchlings, and thusly did Sledding receive his name.
