Pumpkin Dragons are a very small breed, named after their affinity for pumpkins. They are always found living inside hollowed-out pumpkins, and are only seen during the harvest season. Young children often hollow out and decorate their pumpkins in the hope that a Pumpkin Dragon will make it his or her home.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.
User Description
Witchery's first memories are of whispered voices speaking in an undertone just outside of her shell. She remembers a time of cold and her egg shifting like waves on the sea, followed by warmth and the cheery sounds of hatchlings at play. Ever since emerging from her shell, she's tried to discover what those memories might mean. She uses her diminutive stature to sneak around the nearby village, listening to conversations conducted at the same soft volume that she remembers from her egg. The results of her investigations have been bewildering. Humans talk about all sorts of odd things in low tones, like Jenny misbehaving or Leopold messing around, Charlie being a dirty thief or Yendra having a shifty look about her eyes. None of these things give Witchery much hint as to her origins, but she's begun to find them fascinating in and of themselves. Wildness loves the stories she brings back to him, and she loves it when he curls warmly around her while she shares them.
