Ice Dragons are fierce predators who hunt using their extremely cold breath. The breath of an ice dragon can freeze its prey solid in seconds. The body of an ice dragon is so cold that icicles will form along its skin no matter the outside temperature.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. When she was younger, Kizu would often stray away from family hunting parties in the high alpine mountains, drawn to calls of unfortunate dragons trapped in the snowdrifts. Though rather solitary by nature, as is common for her breed, she never turns away from someone who needs her help. Kizu feels that it is her duty to ensure no harm comes to benevolent travelers entering her territory. Some of her older siblings whisper that it is this determination that may lead to her finding her eventual mate, but Kizu doesn't put too much thought to these predictions. After all, digging someone out of an avalanche is hardly romantic, she claims.
