Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

DarkHeartFlower is a terrifying Vampire Dragon hatchling. She was turned in the egg by fearsome DarkBlackElectricHeart. DarkHeartFlower isn't old enough or strong enough to turn other dragons, but she is sly and sneaky. She always turns up in the strangest places at the oddest times. She acts as a scout, trying to find a solitary adult dragon for her evil family to feed from and torture.
