Water Walkers are small dragons that are frequently found around bogs and ponds. While they are flightless, they retain the flight sacs and hollow bones of their airborne cousins. These traits, coupled with their extraordinarily long, webbed toes, allow them to stand on top of calm waters, using their small sails to propel them wherever they please. They spend the majority of their lives on the water, retreating to the tops of lily pads when the waters become too rough to float atop.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Floundering Lily is very stressed and feels that everything is his responsibility. He is very bossy, but somehow quiet at the same time. He is very calm and sensible and that is how he earns respect from the other dragons in his cave.

Floundering Lily is good friends with Lily of Sea, who, aside from having a similar name, also has similar habits. She spends all her time in a pond at the base of a cave occupied by a group of twenty or so dragons; Floundering Lily often watches her splashing. Lily of Sea enjoys being rowdy in the water, which, unfortunately, keeps Floundering Lily eying her on the shore.

Floundering Lily can usually only spend some time on the water when Lily of Sea is asleep and the water is still. Since he's awake so often for a midnight swim, he takes lots of naps during the day. He's also good friends with Vampire Stone, Luck and Simple Hope, and Owl Abia, who also enjoy staying awake at night. The four don't often communicate, though.
