Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

All was dark, the night silent save for the rhythmic chirp of crickets and the distant hoot of an owl. The faint silhouette of a dragon could just barely be seen against the star filled sky, head tipped upwards and wings spread as though she longed to join them. Yet she remained earthbound, humbled by the vast plain of the sky, twinkling with myriads of miniature lights. Her gaze searched the endless expanse, always searching for the faintest splash of color that signified another dragon with starry wings akin to hers.

Every night she lifts her head skywards searching for them; her parents, the two dragons she loves more than life itself. Yet only the faintest memory persists, of sleek heads covered with rows of scales as black as the night itself and pairs of wings; one with swirls of the deepest purple, the other with pale blue. But when the sun rises and the stars retreat behind their veil of blue, so do Surellis' chances of finding her family and her true home.
