Spotted Greenwings are relatively small nocturnal dragons. Easily recognizable by the fleshy appendages growing off of their head and rump, they are most commonly seen in forests at night, leaping and soaring from tree to tree. While generally social, spotted greenwings are very quiet and rarely make any sort of vocalization. Their bodies are unusually warm to the touch, though they are unable to breathe fire. Greenwings are voracious feeders and will consume nearly any living thing that they can fit in their mouths.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Decidea is the exact opposite of her dragon-keeper, Riath. While Riath is boisterous and friendly, Decidea (like the rest of her breed) is quiet, hardly making vocalizations and only ever speaking to Riath telepathically. Decidea was the first dragon in Riath's cave. An aspiring mage and dragon-keeper, he sought out the services of an experienced fortune teller with the intention of finding a dragon that he would be able to bond with. Acting on the orders of the fortune teller, Riath walked deep into the forest of Islaira to retrieve the egg that would hatch into his partner for life. Despite her rather small size compared to other dragons, Decidea takes on a motherly role. She is very protective of the three Drakes that Riath took in after her, as they were newborns when she was almost fully mature.
