Pillow Dragons are covered in enormous amounts of fur affectionately referred to as fluff. Despite their deceivingly large size, they can still fly even with such tiny wings because their bodies are remarkably light. Pillow Dragons have a habit of sleeping for up to eighteen hours a day, waking only in short bursts. During their few waking hours, they take the time to hunt for prey. Once a pillow dragon becomes an adult, its fur grows very slowly. Pillow dragon fur is used to make very expensive and valuable cloth known as “dragon cashmere.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Hina the moon goddess had a lovely Pillow dragon companion whom she raised since he was still an egg. He grew large and was named Ka'alaekakea, the albino mudhen; a bird sacred to the goddess, for she holds a strong love for these birds. One hot summer, Ka'alae began shedding, something he had never done before. Of the fluff that fell from him, it came together and shaped into another Pillow dragon hatchling. When they found that the hatchling was a girl, Hina named her "Hina no na iwi 'ao'ao", which means the rib of Hina, but people call her Naiwi for short. Hina raised Naiwi with lots of love and wisdom, and Naiwi grew into a a kind and wise dragon. She spends most of her time walking with the children of the village playing with them and teaching them how to distinguish between plants with tasty fruits and those with bitter ones. When she isn't with the children, Naiwi is resting with Ka'alae near Hina while she weaves grass mats and beats tapa to make clothing.
