Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Since Hydran was a young hatchling, he managed to burn his eyes and now he has a disorder called "Tritanopia" or a form of colorblindness. Now instead of seeing red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple, he sees hot pink, pink, pale pink, light blue, dark blue, and an auburn-purple mix respectively. This was only the start to the crazy things that happened to him as a hatchling. His mother, Princess Nightwing, tried to force him to be perfect, which is why now he wants to be as evil as possible. But if you ever accuse him of being evil, he'll cry that he's good. Then his mother tried pushing him off of a cliff to teach him how to fly before he was ready. Now he wants nothing to do with her, and is constantly planning how to bring an end to her rule.
