Horse Dragons have equine-shaped bodies and hooves instead of claws, which allow them to be fast runners. They specialize in running takeoffs, which are quicker than taking off from a stand-still. Horse dragons are able to stalk their prey from the ground then quickly execute an aerial attack for the kill.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Esther was born into a tribe of proud Horse dragons. They ruled the plains and laughed at the other creatures trying to exist alongside. They were most beautiful and powerful beings in all the land.

Other, smaller dragon tribes lived nearby, and Esther had made friends with a few of those dragons. One day she met a traveller, a Neotropical dragon named Zechariah. She was amazed by his stories of exotic lands and they started to fall in love. Eventually her family found out about her friendship with the other dragons and told her that she would take a mate among their tribe or leave. Esther decided to elope.

Esther and Zechariah settled on an island and have had five children. They live in peace with the other inhabitants and Esther has all the friends she could ever want or need.
