Sunset Dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset Dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The day Detchi hatched was the second time any one dragon had seen Recila cry tears of joy. She was so excited she had to be lead from hatchery, all while muttering that the twenty-sixth time is the charm. Most were fairly confused by this, but then again, most weren't familiar with the large amount of Sunrise Hatchlings that had mysteriously disappeared over the course of her Cave's history. There was also Fred, but that disappearance was by no fault of Recila's, and entirely his own.

Detchi, courtesy of the random excited hugs he'd get from Recila, grew up a very confused and very affectionate dragon. The prior because he wants to know why he was, and still is, hugged so much, and latter because he doesn't actually care so long as he continues to receive that affection.
