Aria dragons are a brightly-colored and sprightly breed, perhaps most adored for their lyric calls. Their song-like melodies fill the areas they inhabit; their coos resemble those of birds, only more elegant and refined. They have fairly strong magical capabilities, but tend to reserve these strengths for last-minute defense, choosing to live their lives in simple peace. Arias, sticking to the tropics, typically live quite far from human settlements, giving rise to the previously held belief that they had gone extinct.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

At Pyrrhic Victory's hatching, the first dragon she saw was fellow hatchling Fey Dreamlight—a flashy silver with lots in the looks department and little in sense. Kad's clan elders had long wanted to send him to another clan for his antics; Pyr intervened, claiming that "males will be males". As the support for Dream's departure grew, Pyr grew more and more of an activist as his champion, and eventually won him over as a mate largely due to her support.

She was, however, too successful. The clan took up the mantra and let its dragons run free. While the "kids" pulling tails and stealing eggs were cute, the big kids playing violent tricks are not. As a fertile mother, Pyr has had to deal with the consequences of her victory, unruly and tenacious hatchlings that chip away at her sanity. In the issue that most affects her, she won her original battle but at perhaps too great a cost, as her name suggests.
