Shallow Water Dragons are found in tropical regions where the water is warm. They use their magic to hunt, using bubbles to capture small fish and animals. Their large, webbed feet make them excellent swimmers and they are able to move at very high speeds. Due to their bright color, these dragons are easily spotted in the lagoons where they live.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Mado Wo Akeru Goldbubble is a rather odd dragon.  Her parents, Lake of Rage and Miragoo, couldn't decide on what to name her, so they combined both of their ideas.  Lake of Rage had wanted to name her something that reminded her both of her birthplace and her mate, so she wanted to name Mado 'a nostalgic color' in Japanese.  Miragoo wanted her name to show her enjoyment of bubbles and shiny things, hence the name Goldbubble.  However, most of the dragons in the cave just call her Mad as an abbreviation and a reflection of her personality.  Mado spends her days splashing about in a nearby lake and blowing and popping bubbles.  She never takes anything seriously, including hunting, and since she never learned how to trap animals in bubbles, her parents still hunt for her.  The only other dragon who likes her company is Dem-Dem Blanu.  They are sometimes found in splash wars, both trying to make the biggest splashes.
