Witchlight Dragons are silent, secretive beasts that haunt the most remote corners of the wilderness. They beguile their unsuspecting prey into peril by assaulting their perceptions of reality and stoking the fires of paranoia with masterfully-conjured illusions. Unwary travelers have been led astray by the soft, inviting glow of their eyes amidst a sea of encroaching darkness, never to be seen again. Those that survive a Witchlight Dragon’s psychic onslaughts do not escape unchanged: some believe that the apparitions these dragons summon to tempt or torment their victims awaken them to hidden truths about themselves.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Tanetane is trying to follow the road to redemption, though it's been a rough path up until then. She grew up as a bully who did not care about how much she hurt other dragons- emotionally or physically. The dragon family she grew up in, the Hunhs, were enraged by this and, when she didn't stop, eventually cast her out to an island. She continued as Witchlight dragons do- luring in adventurers and wanderers and torturing them with the scars on their hearts, until a little boy was stranded on her island with a fear that pulled on hers, too. He saw his own grinning twin brother covered with bruises and scars, telling him everyone he'd love was waiting to cast him out like he were nothing but a pebble. Reminded of her own family by this, Tanetane got rid of the hallucinations and apologized to the little boy for everything she'd done. He forgave her ('Though I can't speak for the others,' he added hesitantly), and they went on their separate paths, each to recover in different ways.
